Self-paced Resource Overview

Possum Skin Pedagogy: A Guide for Early Childhood Practitioners is grounded in the wisdom of Victorian First Nations Elders and knowledge holders.

It explores seven key narratives that form a framework for embedding authentic First Nations perspectives in early childhood education. Each narrative highlights the cultural significance of possum skins for First Nations people in both historical and contemporary contexts across south-eastern Australia.

This guide is designed to support educators in moving beyond tokenistic approaches and walking alongside First Nations peoples as genuine allies in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector.
