Community Language Support

Respecting children’s cultural identities, including their languages, is essential for culturally respectful and responsive practice.

fkaCS Community Language (Bilingual) Support Workers help Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service staff and educators by facilitating communication in a common language to connect and engage the child and family in the service.

They can also assist in promoting cultural awareness by enabling the exchange and sharing of information between educators and parents about the child, family life, and participation within the learning environment.

Additionally, Community Language Workers encourage communication between the child and their peers to support relationship-building and foster their sense of well-being and belonging.
